Proteins at interfaces

Protein binding at interfaces and a protein’s surface activity are fundamental biological processes, which are also important for various aspects of applied sciences. When proteins come into contact with an interface, the physico-chemical as well as the biological properties of the interface are being altered rapidly. Our aim is to understand the molecular details of this mutually controlled binding process. Our analyses include but are not limited to studies aiming to resolve the molecular forces and mechanisms that control protein binding and surface activities as well as protein- and surface dynamics.
