Mainz appears to be a relatively small town you can easily cross by bike and enjoy the landscape around. But it is also a student town, with more than 10% of the inhabitants studying and a young night life. Therefore it provides rich opportunities for leisure time activities which benefit from the fact that the Second German TV channel ZDF and the regional radio SWR have their home in Mainz. Culture in Mainz does not only mean Carneval and Johannis Night, but includes a lot of festivals and concerts.
